Guru Diksha Public School

Guru Diksha Public School is out in Angara, in the Bongai Bera area. To be honest, it’s a bit of a trek for some, but the families around Paika Thadpakhana have been sending their kids here for a while now. Ranchi is growing fast, but out here it still feels like the old days. We have a simple building where we try to get the local kids through their lessons. It’s not one of those big, shiny schools you see in the city center. We focus on the basics. Teachers here usually come from nearby villages, so everyone knows each other’s families. That makes things easier when a kid is acting up or needs a bit of extra help. We have a playground that gets pretty muddy when the rains hit Ranchi, but the kids don’t seem to mind much. We spend our days teaching math, science, and languages, hoping it sticks. It can be hard work getting everyone to sit still in the heat. There’s no big corporate office telling us what to do every minute. We just look at what the students need and try to get them ready for whatever comes next after they finish here. It’s a quiet life in Angara mostly, except when the school bell rings and everyone goes running out for the day. That’s the loudest part of our whole afternoon. We just want the kids to have a fair shot at learning.
