S.S Foods & Scoops

If you know Rajkot at all, you probably know Race Course Road. We’re located in the Cresent building, right across from the Balbhavan garden. It’s a nice area to be in, especially in the evenings when families are out for a walk. S.S Foods & Scoops is where we spend most of our waking hours. We’re right near Kankai tea, so there’s always a bit of a buzz in this corner. We have the food side of things and then the scoops, which are mostly just simple ice creams and snacks. The building itself is older, and we’ve had to fix things here and there over the years. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone telling us how to run things. It’s just us trying to keep the fridge running and the tables wiped down. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble, which is never fun. The Race Course Road traffic can be a headache when we're trying to get supplies delivered. We see a lot of the same faces every week, people who live around here or work in the nearby offices. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the shop open and the customers satisfied enough to come back. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day. By the time we lock up, the garden across the street is usually quiet. We just do our bit and go home.
