Janki Cereal Home Products

We run our business out of unit D-11 in the Ajanta Apartments on Kalawad Road. It’s quite close to Mahila College, so there are always students and faculty members walking around the area. Being in an apartment building means we have to be careful about not making too much noise, but the cereal and home product work we do is mostly quiet. We spend our days sorting through different types of grains and packing them into bags. The kitchen and the extra rooms are filled with sacks of supplies and weighing scales. It feels more like a home than an office, which makes sense because it’s a family-run thing. We started out just making things for ourselves and then friends started asking for some, and it grew from there. We don't have a big factory or automated packing lines. Everything is weighed out and sealed by us. Sometimes the whole place smells like toasted grains or spices, which is actually quite nice. We don’t have a big sign outside or any fancy displays. People usually hear about us from their neighbors or see us delivering bags to the local shops nearby. It gets a bit cramped when a big shipment of raw grain arrives, but we manage to shift things around. We just enjoy the work and like knowing that the food we pack is good and simple for families.
