Jagdish Food

We’ve been here at 44 Nri Colony for a while now. Most people around Kumar Gali know the spot. We just make food every day and sell it to whoever walks in. It isn't anything fancy. The mornings get really busy with the breakfast crowd. Sometimes the flour gets everywhere and we have to spend an hour cleaning up. My cousin helps out when he is not at his other job. We don’t even have a big sign out front, just the shop door. People stop by on their way back from work. It’s a pretty small space, so it gets quite hot in the summer months. We keep the old ceiling fans going but it only does so much. We don’t use any of those fancy recipes you see on TV, just what we learned from our parents. Sometimes we run out of the popular items early if there’s a big rush. That’s just how it goes here. We have seen the colony change a lot over the years. New houses are going up and more cars are parked in the lane now. But we are still here doing the same thing. It is a lot of standing around and it makes your back ache by evening. It pays the bills though. If you’re walking past Nri Colony, you can’t miss us. It’s not much to look at but we keep it going.
