Gujarat Papad Khar

Gujarat Papad Khar is located out in Village Bhojapara, right off the Nh-8B in the Rajkot district. It is a bit of a drive to get out here from the city, but this is where we do all our processing. we make papad khar, which is a specific ingredient people use to make their papads come out right. The facility is not very large. We have areas for mixing and places where we keep the raw materials dry. Because we are so close to the highway, we hear trucks passing by at all hours of the day and night. The village itself is quiet most of the time. We hire local people who understand how the product is supposed to look and feel. We do not have a marketing department or anyone doing fancy advertising. We just have the bags of product and the customers who have been buying from us for years. Most of our day is spent checking the quality and making sure no moisture gets into the storage area. Moisture is a big problem for us, so we are very careful about it. It gets quite dusty inside the shed, so we keep the big doors open to let the breeze through. There is a small desk where we handle the bills and the paperwork, but we are usually on our feet. It is a simple life out here in the village. We work hard, have our tea, and go home when the work is finished.
