Prakash Oil Mill

If you walk down Siding Road in the Bhojraj Para area, you will eventually smell Prakash Oil Mill before you even see it. The scent of pressing oil is heavy in the air around here, and it’s a smell we’ve grown to love over the years. We’ve been operating this mill for a long time, and not much has changed in the way we do things. The machinery is old but reliable, and it makes a specific rhythmic thumping sound that you can hear from the street. We get a lot of locals coming in for their needs, and we usually spend a bit of time chatting with them while the work gets done. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure everything runs smoothly. The floors can get a bit slippery if we aren’t careful, so we are always sweeping and cleaning up spills. Siding Road is a busy place, but our mill feels like a constant fixture in the neighborhood. We don’t have a big marketing plan or a fancy website. We just rely on the fact that people know where we are and they know what to expect when they walk through the door. It’s a bit dusty and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a working mill, not a showroom. It is a lot of effort, but we don't mind the grit and the hard work that goes into every day.
