Ultratech Cement

Our setup for Ultratech Cement Ltd is right in the Hirmi Township Colony. We are at Quarter Number F, 267. Living and working in the township means you never really leave the job. It’s in the Raipur district of Chhattisgarh, specifically the 493195 area. The colony is a quiet place most of the time, filled with families and workers. You see the same faces every morning when you walk to the office. Our office is basically part of the residential landscape, which makes it feel more like a home than a corporate headquarters. We have a small yard and some trees nearby that give a little bit of shade. Inside, it is mostly just computers, some filing cabinets, and the sound of the printer. Hirmi is a bit far from the main city of Raipur, so we rely on each other for mostly everything. We get the mail at Post-Hirmi and deal with whatever comes our way. The weather in Chhattisgarh can get very hot, making the afternoons slow. We drink plenty of water and try to get the heavy work done early. It’s a simple life here in the township. We don't have fancy cafes nearby, just the canteen and the local store. It’s about getting the cement moved and keeping the records straight for the district. There is always a truck idling somewhere nearby, keeping us reminded of the work.
