We are located at A/2-47 in the Ambuja Colony, right there in Rawan. This is out in the Baloda Bazar area near Raipur, Chhattisgarh. It's a company colony, so everyone knows everyone else. Deva Nand Pandey handles things from this spot for Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd. Living and working in the same colony makes for a very specific kind of day. You step out of your door and you're basically at work. The office is simple, just what we need to keep the records straight. There's a lot of dust because of the nature of the industry, but that's just part of life in Rawan. We don't have any big corporate slogans hanging on the walls. It’s mostly just calendars and notes about delivery schedules. The weather out here in Raipur gets very hot in the summer, so the afternoons are usually pretty quiet until it cools down a bit. We spend our time talking to the drivers and the plant workers. It’s a close-knit group. If you need to find us, just ask anyone in the colony; they'll point you to A/2-47. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just making sure the cement side of things moves along like it should. Sometimes we have meetings over a quick meal. It’s more about the work and the people than anything else. We've been here for years and it's become home.
