Ambuja Cement

This office is out in Rawan, which is under the Baloda Bazaar tehsil in the Raipur district. It’s listed under Vikash Kumar, who is part of the Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd team here. Being out in a village and post office location like Rawan means things move at a slightly different pace than in the big city. We are surrounded by a lot of open land, and the sun really hits the yard hard during the middle of the day. The work is mostly about coordinating the shipments that come through this part of Chhattisgarh. It’s a big district and there is always some construction going on somewhere. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and making sure the staff is ready for whatever trucks show up. The office is a basic building, very functional with just the essentials like a desk, some chairs, and plenty of space for the bags. We have to deal with the local weather, which usually means a lot of heat and then heavy monsoons that turn the ground into a bit of a marsh. We just keep the cement high and dry. People from the surrounding villages come by to settle their accounts or ask about when the next load is coming in. It’s a lot of face-to-face talk and not much else. It’s just the daily life of a cement depot in the Raipur district.
