We are located right inside the UTCL Township in Hirmi, which is part of the Simga area in Raipur. My name is Ankitkumar A. Zade, and I’m one of the people working here at unit D/84. Living and working in the township means everything is close together. It’s a different kind of vibe than the city offices. It’s a bit quieter, but the work is still steady. We spend our days looking over the cement production numbers and making sure the local distribution from the plant is handled right. The office is basically a room with a couple of desks and a big calendar on the wall to track the month. It’s a bit isolated out here, so we all know each other's families and what’s going on in the community. We don't have a lot of walk-in traffic from strangers, mostly just people who live here or drivers coming in for their paperwork. It’s a simple setup. Sometimes we walk over to the canteen for lunch and talk about the plant operations. It’s practical work. We don’t have a need for big presentations or corporate speak because we are right where the cement is made. We see the dust and the trucks every day. It’s honest, hard work that keeps us occupied from dawn until dusk. The commute is just a five-minute walk, which is probably the best part of being stationed out here in Hirmi.
