Sri Swarna Vidyalaya Residential High School

Living and working at a residential school means there is never a quiet moment. Sri Swarna Vidyalaya is located in Panjabi Colony, near Katora Talab in Raipur. Since it’s a residential high school, the kids are here all the time, not just for classes. The building stays occupied from early morning until the lights go out at night. We have the classrooms on one side and the living quarters on the other. It’s a bit of an old building, so there is always a leaky tap or a door that needs fixing somewhere. Katora Talab is a nice area, but we stay pretty busy inside the gates. The kitchen staff starts early to get breakfast ready for everyone. It smells like tea and poha most mornings. During exams, the atmosphere gets a bit tense and you see students huddled over books in every corner. We try to keep things organized, but with teenagers, things get messy quickly. The courtyard sees a lot of action during the evening break. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we do here. Raipur has grown a lot around us over the years. We’ve seen the roads get busier and new buildings go up while we just keep going with the school schedule. It’s a lot of responsibility looking after kids away from their homes, but we just take it one day at a time. It is a noisy, busy, and very normal place.
