Maa Sharda Public School

Maa Sharda Public School sits along the Mathpurena Road in the Santoshi Nagar area of Raipur. Our address is Kathadihi, and most people around here know exactly where that is because of the local shops nearby. It’s a busy spot in Chhattisgarh, especially during the morning rush. The school building isn't huge, but we make use of every corner we have. On any given Tuesday, you’ll see the younger kids sitting in their rows while the teachers go over the basic alphabets. We don't really do big speeches or fancy events. Most of the time, it's just about getting the books out and making sure the homework is done. The road outside stays dusty most of the year, so we spend a lot of time sweeping the floors and keeping the desks clean for the next morning. Sometimes the water supply is a bit slow, or we have to wait for the local repairman to fix a ceiling fan, but that’s just part of life here. The parents who send their children to us are mostly workers and small shop owners from the neighborhood who want their kids to learn how to read and write properly. We focus on that and don’t worry about much else. We don’t have a big playground, so the kids play where they can in the courtyard. It gets quite loud during the lunch break, but then it’s back to the classrooms until the final bell rings at three.
