Mayank Enterprises

Our place is right in the Main Market area of Pali. If you know the district, you know how loud and crowded it gets around here, especially on the weekends. We have been running Mayank Enterprises for a while now. We mostly just handle whatever the local folks need from the market. The shop is tucked between a couple of other busy storefronts. In the mornings, we have to clear the front area. Delivery trucks try to squeeze through the narrow streets. It gets really dusty when the wind picks up in Pali, so we spend a decent amount of time just sweeping the floor and keeping the shelves looking okay. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It's just the name on the front like everyone else. People stop in while they are doing their other shopping. They might ask prices or just see what we have in stock that week. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon. When that happens, we just sit outside on the steps and talk to the other shopkeepers until it comes back on. It is a very normal way of life here. We see the same faces every morning when the tea stalls open up. It feels like everyone knows everyone's business after a while. We handle the daily tasks as they come and try to keep up with the inventory. It is mostly just hard work and being present in the market every single day until it gets quiet at night.
