We are located at the Sonadih Cement Plant Colony, specifically at Quarter No. C-82. This is in Rasedi village, near Baloda Bazar in the Raipur district of Chhattisgarh. It is a very rural area. To get here, you have to go via Baloda Bazar and follow the road to Raseda. The office is right in the middle of where the workers live. It is a simple colony house, nothing special. We have a few desks squeezed into the rooms and a lot of logbooks. Most of our work involves the plant operations nearby. You can see the big chimneys from our window every time you look up. It is a quiet village life otherwise. We see cows on the road more often than cars, especially in the mornings. The heat in Chhattisgarh is no joke, so we stay indoors during the hot afternoons. We don't have any fancy signs or a big entrance. People just know where we are. We handle the local logistics and plant administration from here. It is a small, tight-knit group. We drink tea multiple times a day and talk about the plant or the local news. It’s a very grounded way of working. There is a lot of paperwork to go through, but we take it one step at a time. It’s just how things are out here in Sonadih. It's simple and it works for us. We don't worry about being fancy, we just get things done.
