Indus World School

Out on Old Damtari Road in Sejbahar, things are a bit quieter than in the middle of Raipur. That’s where Indus World School is located. The 492015 area has changed a lot lately, but the school stays pretty much the same. It’s a large enough space with plenty of room for the kids to run around once they get off the buses. The morning air in Sejbahar can be a bit cool, but by noon the sun is usually beating down on the concrete paths. Inside the buildings, the walls are painted a simple color and there are posters from past events still hanging up in the corridors. You can hear the hum of the city in the background, but mostly it’s just the sound of pens scratching on paper and teachers giving instructions. The canteen smells like whatever was cooked for breakfast, and the benches there are a bit worn out from years of use. It’s not a place with a lot of fancy decorations or anything like that. People here just go about their business, whether it’s the office staff handling admissions or the groundskeeper watering the few patches of grass we have. It feels like a small community once you step inside the gates. The drive out here from Raipur can be long depending on the traffic, but once you arrive, it’s just a regular school day waiting to happen for everyone involved.
