Century Cement

Our office at Mb/14 in Raipur is a busy little spot. We are located near the post office in the 493116 area code, which is out toward the industrial outskirts. It’s not the kind of place you’d go for a sightseeing tour. It’s a functional building where we handle the day-to-day for Century Cement. The walls are a bit plain, and the furniture has seen better days, but it serves its purpose. We have a lot of files stacked up on the shelves because we still like to keep paper records of everything. The air outside is often thick with the smell of the nearby plants and the heat of Chhattisgarh. Most of us arrive early to beat the worst of the sun. We spend our hours answering the phone, talking to the loaders, and making sure the paperwork is in order. There’s a small tea shop just down the road where we go when we need a break from the computers and the noise. The people who work here have been together for years, so we’re more like a group of neighbors than a corporate team. We don’t use a lot of big words or fancy titles. If you need something, you just ask. It’s a straightforward, local way of doing things, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. When the weekend comes, we’re all pretty tired but ready to do it again the next week. We just focus on the task in front of us.
