Century Cement

This part of Raipur is where we spend most of our time, specifically in the D/E Colony. It’s a quiet enough area near the Baikunth post office, and we are located at S/S-70. Living and working in the same colony makes the days flow into each other. You see the same faces every morning when you're heading to the office. It isn't a corporate skyscraper or anything like that. It’s just a regular building where we handle the daily business for Century Cement. The address 493116 is what we put on all our mail, and we get quite a bit of it. Sometimes the postman has to ask around if he’s new, but mostly everyone knows where S/S-70 is. We have a few trees outside that give some shade during the peak afternoon heat, which is a relief in Chhattisgarh. The office inside is pretty basic with fans that have been running for years. We don’t really do big meetings with slide shows. It is more about sitting at the desks and talking through what needs to be finished by five o’clock. Most of us have been here a long time, so we know each other's families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. It’s a small community vibe. When the work is done, we just walk back to our quarters. It’s a practical setup that works for us, and we don't feel the need to change much about it because it suits our daily needs perfectly.
