Out here in Raipur, things move at a certain pace. It’s a busy city in Chhattisgarh and the heat can really get to you by midday. We at Cement Manufacturing Company Limited have been operating here for a while, dealing with the constant flow of material and the grit that comes with this line of work. There is always a layer of fine dust on the windows, no matter how much you clean them, but that is just part of being in the cement trade. We aren't big on speeches or big meetings. Most of our time is spent making sure the production is steady and the dispatch team knows where they are headed. The roads around here are always full of heavy vehicles, and we are just one part of that big machine. Lunch is usually a quick affair, maybe something from the local canteen or a tiffin brought from home. We talk about the weather, the local news, and how the machinery is holding up. It’s honest work and it keeps a lot of people busy. The factory floor is loud, so you get used to shouting a bit to be heard. We don't have a lot of frills in the office, just the basics to get the job done. It’s about the product and getting it where it needs to go, plain and simple. We just keep our heads down and do the daily tasks.
