Our group, Pipli 4S4R Farmers Producer Company Limited, is based in Sultan Nagar, specifically at Ranjita Kumar Mohanty’s place in Gobardhanpur, Pipili. Pipili is known for a lot of things like its crafts, but for us, it’s all about the farming and the soil. We aren't some corporate entity with a big board of directors and expensive meetings. We’re just a collection of local farmers who wanted to do things as a team for a change. Ranjita helps keep the records straight, which is a big job considering how much we all have going on with our own lands. Life here is busy, especially when the seasons change and the pressure is on. We spend our days out in the fields and our evenings talking about what needs to be done next. It’s not a glamorous life, and we certainly aren't getting rich, but it’s what we do and what we know. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a website that looks professional. Most of our business is done with a handshake and a lot of conversation over a cup of tea. We’ve had our fair share of struggles with the weather and the markets, but being together makes it a bit easier to handle the bad days. We’re just regular people from Pipili trying to keep our traditions alive while finding new ways to get our work done. It’s about the soil, the seeds, and the people we’ve known our whole lives.
