Our group, Krishi Jagaran Kalna-Ii Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located in Vill-Nepakuli Jhapantala. If you are looking for us, we are usually at Tusharkanti Ghosh’s place. It is not a big corporate building or anything, just a spot in the village where we all meet up to talk. We deal with farming mostly, as that is what everyone here knows. The area around Godaannada is where we all live and do our daily work. There are quite a few of us involved in this project now. It really started because we needed a way to organize our farming tasks a bit better. We grow different things depending on the time of year and what the ground allows. Sometimes it is rice, other times it is various vegetables for the market. It is hard work and the sun gets really hot in Kalna, but we are all used to it by now. We do not have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy letters for us. This is just us talking. We spend our mornings in the dirt and our evenings talking about what to plant next. Sometimes the prices for seeds go up too high, or the rain does not come when it should. That is why we formed this company, just to help deal with those things together. It makes it a bit easier to handle the daily stresses. We aren't trying to do anything huge, just trying to make a living.
