We’re based out of Annapurna Bhaban in the Harisava Para area of Katwa. You’ll find us at Anup Kumar Ghosh’s place. Jagat - Shikha Farmers Producer Company Limited is essentially a collective of local farmers from around here. We decided to get together to make the business of farming a little more organized. Katwa is a place where agriculture is the main thing, so we stay pretty busy throughout the year. Our office is just a regular room where we keep our files and meet up to talk about the harvest. It’s not a corporate office by any means. It’s more of a place for neighbors to sit down and figure out how to sell their crops. We deal with the daily struggles of farming, like fluctuating prices and the cost of supplies. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in being a producer company, which isn't always fun, but we get through it. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches. It’s just us trying to make sure everyone gets a fair deal for their hard work. Usually, we’re out in the fields or checking on the transport trucks. We keep things honest and practical. If there’s a problem, we talk about it and try to fix it. We aren't looking to grow into a giant corporation; we just want to keep our local farming community stable and working well. It’s a simple life, and we like it that way.
