Universal Foods Incorporated

Universal Foods Incorporated is based out of A-201, Suvarnarekha Apts. in the Parvati area. It’s basically an apartment that we’ve turned into an office space. Because it was meant for living in, the layout is a bit funny for a business. We use the living room as the main work area and the kitchen is where we keep all the files and the printer. It smells like whatever the neighbors are cooking for lunch most days, which usually makes us hungry. We have some storage boxes stacked in the hallway, making it a bit narrow to walk through. It’s a quiet residential building, so we try to keep the noise down. We don’t have a sign on the door, just the flat number. Most of our work is done on laptops at the dining table. It’s a very informal setup. Sometimes the doorbell rings and it’s just someone delivering mail or a neighbor. We take turns making coffee in the small kitchen. It feels more like a home than a company headquarters, but it suits us just fine. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of people who have been together for a while. The balcony has a few old chairs where we sit if we need some fresh air. It’s a simple way to run things without the overhead of a big commercial building. We just do our work and go home.
