We are based out of Krishana Nagar Colony, specifically on Nisar Kiran Lane in Rahatani. It’s a tucked-away spot, which is actually quite helpful when we have a lot of cooking to do. We don’t have to deal with the main road traffic right at our doorstep. Our kitchen is where everything happens. It’s a simple space with big stoves and plenty of room for prep. Most of our work comes from families in the Rahatani area who are planning weddings or small home gatherings. We started small and just kept going because people seemed to like what we were doing. It’s a lot of manual labor, waking up before dawn to get to the market and then spending the whole day over hot pots. We don't have a polished front office or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll likely find us in our aprons, probably middle of chopping vegetables or checking on a large pot of rice. We use old recipes that have been passed down, and we don't mess with them much. The lane can get a bit crowded when we’re loading up the vans, but the neighbors are used to us by now. We just focus on making enough food so that nobody goes home hungry. It’s a plain, hardworking life, and we’re quite content with that for now. We just do the work and hope it's enough to satisfy the people we serve.
