Something Different

The name is a bit funny, I know. Something Different is what we called it because we didn't want to be just another boring shop on Karve Road. We are over by City Center Road 3. It’s a busy area, especially in the afternoons. Inside, it’s a bit of a mix of everything. We have some home items, some small gifts, and things you might need for the house but didn't know where to find. I like to keep the shelves full, even if it makes the aisles a bit narrow. You have to watch your elbows when you walk through. I’ve been running the place with my wife for about six years now. We usually open around ten once the morning rush on the main road has settled down a bit. We get students from the nearby colleges looking for things for their rooms and older folks who have lived in the flats here for decades. It’s a nice mix. We don't do any big advertising. People just see the sign and wander in to see what we have. Sometimes they stay and chat for twenty minutes about nothing in particular. It’s that kind of place. The lighting isn't the best, and the floor squeaks in one corner, but it feels like home to us. We just try to keep things stocked and help people find what they need.
