If you keep driving past Peacock Bay and head toward the Khadakwasala Research Station, you eventually hit Village Mandvi. That is where you find us at Splendour Country. Sumeet Lifestyle is the name of the group that looks after the place. It is quite a way out from the city, which is why people come here in the first place. The air is different once you get past the dam. We spend a lot of time managing the grounds and making sure the rooms are ready. It is a big property, so there is always something that needs fixing or a lawn that needs mowing. Since we are in Village Mandvi, it is a bit rustic. You might see some cows on the road or local villagers walking by. It is not like those polished hotels in the city center. We deal with the weather and the quiet. Sometimes it gets really busy on weekends and other times it is just us and the birds. The staff lives nearby or commutes from the city. Managing a place like this involves a lot of walking around and checking on things constantly. We keep the gates open and try to make sure everything looks okay for whoever decides to drive out this far. It is a lot of work to keep a place running in the countryside, but we are used to it now.
