Siddhai Electrical

Sadashiv Peth is one of those old areas where the streets have a lot of history, and we are right in the thick of it at Gendigate Road 852. Siddhai Electrical is a small shop, but we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. We have bundles of wires hanging from hooks and light bulbs stacked in boxes on the floor. It’s been our work home for a long time now. The street outside is always busy with people walking to the market and rickshaws squeezing past each other. At 852, we get a lot of walk-in traffic from folks who live in the traditional houses nearby. They come in for a single switch or maybe a new tube light when theirs flickers out. We know which shelf has the copper wire and which drawer has the tiny screws, even if the whole place looks like a jumble to anyone else. The front counter is made of dark wood and it has been worn down over the years where people lean on it to talk. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that hum all day long. Sometimes when it's slow, we stand at the doorway just to watch the people go by on Gendigate Road. It’s a tight community in Sadashiv Peth and everyone seems to know everyone else. We like the daily buzz of the area and seeing the shop lights at night.
