Shri Ram Bhel Centre

Shri Ram Bhel Centre is situated in Warje Malwadi, right on the 2nd Cross of Ramamurthy Nagar Main Road. We have been sitting at this spot for quite some time. It is a small place, mostly just a counter and some space for people to stand and eat their snacks. We specialize in bhel and other quick items that people like to eat in the evening. The 2nd Cross gets quite a bit of foot traffic, which helps us stay busy. We start our prep work in the afternoon, cutting vegetables and mixing the chutneys we need for the day. It is a lot of chopping and stirring. We don't have any servers, so people just come up to the window and tell us what they want. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait when everyone shows up at once after five o'clock. We try to work fast but we only have so many hands. The shop is simple and we don't spend money on fancy lights or music. We just focus on the food we are making. Most of our customers are from the Ramamurthy Nagar area and they have been coming to us since they were kids. It’s nice to see the same faces every day. We just keep doing what we do, one plate at a time, until we close up for the night. Nothing fancy about it.
