Shri Krishna Rice World

Shri Krishna Rice World is located at Vishrantwadi 1. We mostly sell different varieties of rice to the people in our community. When you walk into the shop, the first thing you notice is the rows of open bags showing the different grains, from long basmati to the shorter local varieties. We spend our day explaining the differences to customers who want to know which one is best for biryani or for daily meals. It’s a lot of lifting because rice comes in heavy sacks, so we are constantly moving things around to keep the stock fresh. The floor usually has a bit of grain on it despite how much we sweep. Vishrantwadi 1 is a busy area, so we get a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. We have a large scale for weighing out exactly what people need, whether it’s just a kilo or a full twenty-five kilo bag. There isn't any fancy branding here, just the name on the board and the rice in the bags. We keep a simple desk at the front where we handle the cash and write out receipts by hand. Sometimes it’s just one of us here, and other times we have help for the busier weekend rush. We’ve been doing this for a while and we just aim to keep enough stock so that nobody goes home without their rice. It’s a basic, steady way to run a business and it keeps us going.
