Shree Om Rice Mills

Shree Om Rice Mills is located on Jyoti Road. It is a long road and we have been at this spot for a while. The mill is a practical space designed for one thing, which is processing rice. We do not have a fancy lobby or a reception desk. Usually, you will find someone out in the yard or near the silos. The work is repetitive but it is important for the local food supply. We see a lot of tractors and trucks coming through throughout the day. Jyoti Road gets quite busy, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to get their deliveries sorted. We have a set routine for cleaning the paddy and getting the husks off. The dust is something we just live with. It gets everywhere, even in the tea. We have a few older machines that still run better than the new ones sometimes. It is a hands-on type of job. Nobody here wears a suit. We wear clothes that we do not mind getting dirty. The weather plays a big role in how we work. If it is too damp, we have to wait for things to dry out properly. We just take things as they come. It is a local business and we know most of the people who stop by for a chat. If you drive down Jyoti Road, you will see us. We are just doing what needs to be done every single day. The seasons dictate our lives here and we are fine with that.
