Shree Laxmi Dall Mill

Shree Laxmi Dall Mill is located at Gut No. 763 in Hivare village. We are right off the Dhamari Road in Shirur tehsil, which makes it easy for the trucks to get in and out. The mill has been part of this village for quite a few years now. We spend most of our time processing different kinds of pulses. It’s hard work and the machines require a lot of grease and maintenance to keep them running smooth. We have a large yard where the grains are unloaded and sometimes left to dry in the sun if the moisture is too high. The office is just a small room with a desk and some old ledgers where we keep track of everything. It’s not a fancy place with modern furniture, but it gets the job done. We deal with farmers from all around the Shirur area. Sometimes the market prices for dal go up and down and that makes things a bit stressful for everyone. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for a long time. They know the sounds of the machines and can tell if something is wrong just by listening. We start our day before the sun comes up to avoid the worst of the afternoon heat. It is a practical business and we don't try to make it look like something it isn't.
