Shivam Bhel

If you’re heading down Hadapsar Avhalwadi Road 2, you’ll find us at Shivam Bhel. It’s just a small place we started because we liked the neighborhood. This part of Hadapsar is growing fast, but it still feels like a local spot. We spend most of our afternoon getting the chutneys ready and making sure the sev is crunchy. There’s not much seating, so most people just stand around the counter or eat in their cars. It gets really crowded around five or six in the evening when everyone is heading home from work. Avhalwadi Road 2 can get a bit dusty with all the construction going on nearby, but that doesn't stop people from coming by. We don't have a fancy menu or anything. It’s just the same few things we’ve been making since we opened. My younger brother helps me out in the evenings when the rush starts. We’ve had the same regulars for a long time now, and we know most of their names. Sometimes we run out of supplies if the day is busier than usual, and we just have to close up early. It’s a simple business, nothing corporate about it. We just focus on our work here in Hadapsar. There’s no big mission, just making bhel and chatting with the neighbors. It’s a good way to spend the day, even if our hands are always covered in spices.
