Shiv Malhar Fire Works

You can find us in Vishrantwadi on 32nd E Cross over in 4th T Block. Shiv Malhar Fire Works is mostly a seasonal kind of business, but we are here all year round getting things ready. The shop is filled with stacks of cardboard boxes. We have to be really careful about how we store everything because of what’s inside. It’s a lot of physical work, moving crates and organizing the different types of crackers and sparklers. During the big festival times, it gets incredibly crowded. People from all over the neighborhood come in with their kids. It’s loud and everyone is talking at once. My wife helps me out during the busy weeks because I can’t manage the counter alone. We have been in this spot for several years now and the neighbors know us well. Outside of the festival seasons, it’s much quieter. I spend that time talking to suppliers and making sure we have enough stock for the next big rush. The shop itself is pretty plain. We just have some wooden shelves and a heavy desk. I like the smell of the shop, though some people find it a bit strong. It’s just how it is. We don’t do any big advertising or anything fancy. People just know where we are when they need something for a celebration. We stay open pretty late when things are busy and the streets are full of people.
