Shegaon Kachori Centre

Deccan Gymkhana is a pretty busy part of town. Our place, Shegaon Kachori Centre, is located at Ratandeep Avenue 657. It's not the biggest shop on the avenue but we make it work. Every morning starts the same way with the dough and the filling. It’s a lot of manual work. My hands are usually covered in flour by 8 AM. We don’t have fancy machines. People come by for a quick snack. Some have been coming since we first opened at 657. Ratandeep Avenue has changed a lot over the years, more cars and noise now. We just stay inside and keep frying. The oil gets hot and the smell fills the street. Sometimes we burn a batch if we aren't paying attention. It happens. We just throw those out and start over. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in Deccan Gymkhana. We just want to finish the day's work. The counter is small so people often stand outside to eat. It gets crowded on weekends. We try to move fast but sometimes there’s a wait. Most people don’t mind. They just talk while they wait. Shegaon Kachori Centre is just a simple business. We don't have a website or anything. Just the sign out front and the address at Ratandeep Avenue 657. That’s plenty for us to handle right now.
