Sham Fruit & Food Processors

Down on Saki Vihar Road in Chinchwadagaon, you’ll find our place. Sham Fruit & Food Processors is tucked away in a spot that most people might miss if they aren't looking for it. We handle a lot of fruit here. Every morning, the trucks pull up with crates of whatever is in season. We spend the whole day sorting through them. It is a messy job. There is juice on the floor and the smell of fruit is everywhere. Chinchwad is a loud area, so we are used to the sound of traffic outside our gate. We have a few old machines that help us with the processing, but a lot of it is still done by hand. We peel and cut for hours until our backs ache. It isn’t a glamorous job at all. We wear heavy aprons to stay dry, but it doesn't always work. The building is old and gets very hot in the summer months. We have some fans, but they just move the warm air around. We don't have a front office or any salespeople. We just focus on getting the pulps and juices into the containers. Sometimes we stay late if a big shipment comes in unexpectedly. It is just the way the food business works. We have been doing this for years on Saki Vihar Road and we don't plan on changing how we do things. We just keep going.
