Shalimar Mandap & Flowers Decorators is based in Yaswant Nagar, which is part of the Chinchwad area. We have been working out of this location for a long time now. Our day-to-day involves a lot of heavy lifting and dealing with fresh flowers. The shop is usually a bit of a mess with flower stems on the floor and rolls of fabric piled up against the walls. We do mandap decorations for weddings and other local events. Yaswant Nagar is a busy place, and our trucks are always coming and going from the narrow streets. It’s not a glamorous job. We spend a lot of time outdoors, setting up frames and pinning up cloth in the sun. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, and we have to work twice as hard to keep everything looking right. We are just a local crew, not a big company with a board of directors. Most of us have been doing this for years and know exactly how to tie a knot or drape a curtain without thinking about it. We don't have a showroom with fancy lighting. People usually just see our work at a local hall and ask for our number. It is a very hands-on business. We just try to make sure the decorations are up on time and the flowers look okay for the day. That is pretty much all there is to it here in Chinchwad.
