You will find us in Sarangkheda, which is out in the Shahada taluka. It is in the Nundurbar district. The full name is S S T P S S K Ltd Sugar Purushottamnager, but most folks around here just call it the sugar factory. We are right in the middle of the farming area. Our work revolves around the sugar season. When the cane starts coming in, the whole place gets very busy and noisy. There are trucks lined up and the smell of the juice is everywhere. It’s not a clean or quiet job. We have a lot of big machines that have been around for a long time. They need a lot of maintenance to keep going. We aren't some modern tech company. We are a practical place working with the soil and the crops. The people who work here are mostly locals from the nearby villages. We know each other well. During the off-season, things quiet down a bit and we do repairs. It’s a cycle we have been following for years. There is plenty of dust and heat, but that is part of the work. We don't have any fancy offices with air conditioning. Just some fans and open windows. We focus on getting the sugar processed and sent out. It’s a hard life but it is what we know. Sarangkheda is our home and this factory is where we spend our days.
