S R Bhand

S R Bhand is located at number 247 in Shivaji Nagar. It’s a pretty straightforward place. We’ve been operating out of this building for a while now. Shivaji Nagar is always moving, and being at 247 puts us right in the middle of it. The shop itself is quite simple. We don't have any big signs or neon lights. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and a counter where we talk to whoever walks in. We deal with various items, mostly general things people need for their homes or small businesses nearby. It gets dusty because of the construction that always seems to be happening on the road outside. Most of our day is spent helping people find specific items they can't find elsewhere. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Pune; we just want to do our job right. The space is a bit tight, especially when we get a fresh delivery of stock. We usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by on the street. Other days, everyone seems to come in at once. It’s a local business run by local people. We know the neighbors and they know us. That’s how we like to keep it. We just show up every day and do what needs to be done to keep the business going for the long run.
