Ruchipurna

Ruchipurna is located on Sinhagad Road, specifically at Jashoda Nagar Society 1. It’s a small place where we handle food, mostly snacks and traditional items. The smell of frying spices and dough is always in the air. We don't have a big restaurant setup. It is more of a practical kitchen where things are made fresh and then sold. I spend most of my time over a big stove or packing things into containers. It gets very warm in here, especially in the summers. We have a few people helping out, and we are usually all talking at once while we work. The floor gets a bit sticky from all the sugar and oil, so we are constantly cleaning. We don't have a fancy menu printed out. People usually just know what we make on different days of the week. Sometimes we run out of things early if there is a big order for a local function. It’s a bit chaotic when that happens. We use the same recipes we've used for years. Nothing is automated here; it’s all done by hand. We don't use any fancy packaging either, just simple bags and boxes. It’s just us making food that we know people around Sinhagad Road like to eat. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but seeing the same neighbors come back every week makes it feel alright. It's just home cooking on a bigger scale.
