Rohan Phataka Mart

You can find Rohan Phataka Mart down in Vishrantwadi. Specifically, we are on the 1st Cross of Panchala Siddappa Lane. It’s one of those narrow streets where you have to be careful with your car. Most people just walk or bring a scooter. The lane gets pretty crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home. Our shop isn't very big, but we make use of every inch of shelf space. We have things stacked all the way to the ceiling. It’s been our spot for a long time. The building is older, with those heavy wooden doors that take a bit of effort to slide open in the morning. We know all the other shopkeepers on the lane. We talk about the weather or the local news while we have our morning chai. It’s a community feeling. When things get busy, the whole lane feels alive. We don't do much in the way of advertising; people just know we're here. Sometimes the streetlights outside flicker, but we have our own lights inside to keep things visible. It gets a bit dusty with the wind blowing through the alley, so we’re always wiping down the counters. It’s a simple life running a mart in this part of town. We see the same faces every week. We just try to keep the stock full and the floor swept. That’s about it for us. It's just the way things are in this part of Vishrantwadi. We like the familiarity of it, and wouldn't really know how to operate anywhere else.
