Rajlaxmi Chits

Our office for Rajlaxmi Chits is on the 3rd floor of the building at 601 Pune Satara Road. It’s near the Ashram Road intersection. It’s a busy part of town, so finding a parking spot can be a bit of a headache most mornings. We’ve been in this building for a long time. The elevator works most of the time, but we usually just take the stairs if we’re in a hurry. The office itself is pretty plain. We have some old filing cabinets and a few desks where we handle all the paperwork for the chit funds. People from the neighborhood come in and out all day to drop off their payments or just to check on their accounts. It gets a bit loud when the traffic on Satara Road picks up in the evening. We keep a fan going most of the time because it gets warm on the third floor. There’s a tea stall just down the road that we all go to around four o'clock. We know most of our customers by their first names because they’ve been coming here for years. It’s a very local kind of business. We don’t do fancy ads or have a big flashy lobby. It’s just a place where people come to manage their money and talk for a bit before heading back out into the city.
