Prakash Fataka Mart

The shop is at Kalewadi 10-B, and it gets really loud around here during festival season. We have been sitting in this same spot for years now, mostly dealing with different kinds of firecrackers. It is a family thing, my father started it and now we just keep it going. Most days we are just moving boxes around or checking the stock to make sure everything stays dry. People come in asking for the loudest ones or the items that make bright colors in the sky. We spend a lot of time just talking to neighbors who stop by to see what is new. The shop isn't fancy at all. There are stacks of boxes everywhere and the floor is usually a bit dusty from the street outside. During Diwali, it gets so crowded we barely have time to eat lunch or even sit down. We just stay on our feet and wait for the next customer. Sometimes children come in just to look at the pictures on the boxes. We tell them to be careful and stay away from any light. It is a simple life here in Kalewadi. We know most of the people who walk past our door every morning. We do not do any big advertising, just the sign outside that says the name. If someone needs something for a wedding or a party, they know where to find us. We just try to keep enough stock so nobody goes home empty-handed. It is hard work lifting those heavy crates but it keeps us busy and moving.
