Our office and work area is tucked away in Kothrud 1. It’s not like those big glass buildings you see in the city. We have a lot of crates and boxes stacked up against the walls most of the time. We handle a lot of different food products and the paperwork that goes with them. Most days start with checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be moved out. Pal India Food Solutions Pvt Ltd is a long name, but we just call it the office. The phones ring quite a bit with people asking about their orders or delivery times. We have a small staff and everyone does a bit of everything, from moving heavy sacks to typing on the old computer. The ceiling fans hum all day long to keep the air moving through the storage area. It gets quite busy on Monday mornings when the new stock arrives. We drink a lot of tea while we sit at the wooden desks. Sometimes the neighbors come by to complain about the trucks blocking the lane, so we have to go out and move things around. It’s a lot of practical work and making sure the numbers in the ledger match what’s on the shelves. We don't have a fancy lobby, just a door that stays open during the day. It’s a bit dusty, but we keep the main workspace as clean as we can.
