The estate here in Lonikand is quite large. If you drive down the Nagar Road away from Pune, you’ll find us at Gat 485. It’s a food plant, so things are kept pretty strictly, but it’s still a factory at the end of the day. There is always a smell of something being processed—sometimes sweet, sometimes just plain flour or starch. Weikfield has been around a long time, so many of the people working here have been through the gates for years. The shifts start early, and you see the buses bringing workers in from the surrounding villages. It’s a lot of machinery and packaging lines. We spend our time making sure the boxes are filled and the seals are tight. It’s not a quiet place. There is a constant hum of conveyors and the sound of forklifts moving pallets around the warehouse. Outside, the Maharashtra heat can be intense, but the thick walls of the factory keep things somewhat steady. We don't spend much time on fancy talk. We just focus on the production schedule. If a machine breaks down, the engineers are on it right away because we can’t afford to let the stock sit. It’s just how food manufacturing goes. You make it, you pack it, and you ship it out to the stores. It's a lot of routine, but it's what keeps the place running day in and day out.
