Mutton Magic

Mutton Magic is located on the Times of India Road in Wanowarie. We spend most of our time dealing with the meat suppliers to make sure we get what we need for the day. Cooking mutton takes a long time and a lot of patience, which is something we have learned over the years. The shop is not very big so it can get a bit cramped when the lunch crowd arrives. We have a few tables and the fans are always spinning to keep the heat down. People find us easily because of the smell of the spices roasting. We use a lot of garlic and ginger and onions, and our hands usually smell like that even when we go home. It is a family thing, really. My uncle used to do this and now I am doing it. We don't have a printed menu that looks nice, it is mostly just written on the wall so people know what is available. The road outside is busy and sometimes it is hard for people to find parking, but they still come by. We don't do anything fancy with the plates or the way the food looks. It is just about the taste and making sure everyone leaves with a full stomach. Some days are better than others, and sometimes the meat is a bit tougher than we like, but we do our work honestly and open the shutters every morning.
