We have been running our kitchen at 92 Bhawani Peth for quite a long time now. It’s just a regular building on a busy street, but it’s where we do all our work. Every morning starts with the same routine of getting the stoves lit and the big pots filled with water. The heat in the kitchen gets pretty intense by noon, especially during the summer months. We don't have any fancy signs or a big office to show off. Most of our space is taken up by crates of vegetables and large bags of grain. We spend a lot of our time just scrubbing pans and making sure everything is ready for the next day. The street outside is always full of people and noise, but we just stay focused on what we are doing inside. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble parking because the road is so narrow and crowded here in Bhawani Peth. It’s a lot of physical labor and we often end the day with sore backs and tired feet. We don't use any marketing people or have a polished way of talking. It is just a group of us who know how to handle the heavy lifting and the long hours. We’ve known the people who live around here for years, and they are used to the smells coming from our doorway. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy from dawn until late at night.
