Morya Food Wefars

Morya Food Wefars is located at Akurdi A/109. It’s a place where we spend our days making wafers and other crispy snacks. We don't have a big showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly a production space where we slice the potatoes and fry them up in big vats. The air inside always smells like hot oil and salt, which I guess is better than most smells. We use local potatoes and try to keep the batches consistent, though sometimes they come out a bit darker if the heat isn't just right. We aren't a big factory with robots. It’s just a few of us doing the work by hand. We pack the wafers into big bags for the local shops to pick up. Sometimes people come directly to the door at A/109 to buy a few packets, and we don't mind that at all. The floor can be a bit slippery if we aren't careful with the oil, so we are always scrubbing it down. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot and the fryers are going full blast. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. We just focus on making sure the wafers are crunchy. People in Akurdi know us, and that’s enough to keep us busy. We’ve been at this for a while and we plan to stay right here making snacks for the neighborhood shops.
