Down in Raviwar Peth, specifically at 1553 Bhori Ali, you’ll find our shop. We are right near the Dena Bank, so it’s pretty easy to spot if you’re familiar with the area. Mem Saab Bags has been part of this market for quite a while now. The street is always packed with people, and it’s always noisy, which is just how life is in this part of town. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all sorts of bags—purses, backpacks, travel bags, you name it. It can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of customers at once. We spend our mornings unpacking new stock and rearranging the shelves to make everything fit. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see my kids or my cousins helping out on the weekends. We don’t have a website or a marketing team. We just open the shutters every morning and wait for people to walk in. Sometimes the lights flicker or the roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, but we just deal with it. It’s a practical business. People come here because they know we have a lot of variety and we’ve been here forever. We just try to find the right bag for whoever walks through the door without making a big deal out of it. It is just a regular shop in Raviwar Peth trying to stay afloat.
