Karishma Optician

Getting to 340/41/8/A Rasta Peth isn't too hard if you know the area around Ram Nagar. We are tucked inside the Vijay Shanti Arcade. It is a busy building with a lot of different shops, but we have been here at Karishma Optician long enough that most people know the way. If you get lost, just look for Hotel Poona Cafe, as we are right near there. The shop isn't huge, but it fits all the frames and the equipment we need to check eyes. We spend most of our time helping people pick out glasses that don't slide off their noses or fixing hinges that got bent. It gets a bit crowded on Saturday afternoons when everyone is out in Rasta Peth. We do not have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure the prescriptions are right. Some people have been coming to us for years, ever since we first opened in the arcade. We try to keep things simple. You come in, you look at the lenses, and we tell you what is available. It is a lot of sitting and looking at small parts, which can be tiring on the eyes, ironically. But it is what we do. The arcade can be noisy with all the traffic outside, but inside the shop, it stays pretty calm. We are just here doing our thing every day. Most days we just chat with the regulars while we work on the frames.
