Radhika Bags

Radhika Bags is located right across from the Masjid in Akurdi. It’s at 1 N B Arcadia. I usually get here early to open up the shutters. The street gets pretty crowded by midday, so getting the shop ready early helps a lot. We have all sorts of bags hanging from the ceiling and stacked on the floor. It isn’t a huge place, so we have to use every bit of space we have. Sometimes people get confused finding the entrance because of the other shops around us, but look for the N B Arcadia building. I’ve worked here for a long time now. I know where every single item is kept, even if it looks like a jumble to someone walking in for the first time. We handle a lot of local orders. People from around the neighborhood stop in when their old bag finally gives out. We don’t do fancy stuff here. It’s just plain work and keeping things moving. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets extra busy. We don't have a website or anything. We just talk to the people who walk through the door. If a handle is loose on something we sell, we try to fix it right then and there. It's a modest business. The rain sometimes gets in through the front if we don't pull the shade down fast enough. That’s just part of being in this spot.
