Mayur Mandap Decorators

Mayur Mandap Decorators is based out of Yerwada 27. This is where we keep all our supplies like the metal poles, the heavy rolls of decorative cloth, and the stacks of plastic chairs. Most of our work actually happens away from this address, at the different sites where people are having weddings or local festivals. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading the truck with all the gear. It is physical work and we often end up quite tired by the end of the day. In Yerwada 27, we mostly do the planning and make sure all the fabric is clean and folded properly before the next job. When we are at a site, we are busy tying ropes and stretching out the colorful drapes to make the mandap look right. It’s not a glamorous job, especially when we have to work in the sun or late at night to get everything ready for the morning. We are just a small crew and we’ve been doing this in the local area for a long time. People know us and just call us when they have an event coming up. We don't have a big office or anything, just this storage space where we keep our equipment. We focus on getting the structures up safely and making sure there are enough seats for everyone. It’s just how we make our living here and we have been at it for years.
